ALLENTOWN, Pa (AP) Mack Trucks is recalling 75 laid-off workers to its Lehigh Valley manufacturing plant.
The truck maker said it’s benefiting from improving demand for highway vehicles.
Company spokesman John Walsh said the recall is effective June 21. It will bring the number of workers at the plant to 750.
After several rounds of layoffs, Mack has shown modest signs of economic recovery this year.
Through April, Mack reported a 30 percent increase in deliveries compared with 2009. Mack sells most trucks within North America and some overseas.
Mack is shifting non-manufacturing employees from an Allentown, Pa., office to its new headquarters in Greensboro, N.C. It has shifted all manufacturing to its Pennsylvania plant.
