Terex Utilities
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To raise awareness for disease prevention and to raise funds for research, Terex Utilities displayed a pink bullet tooth auger (BTA) tool during the 2019 International Construction & Utility Equipment Expo (ICUEE).
"More than 41,000 people will die from breast cancer in the United States in 2019. We hope to take a small bite out of this disease with our pink bullet tooth auger tool," said Joe Caywood, director of marketing. For every signature collected on a banner, Terex donated $2, up to a total of $5,000, to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The bullet tooth auger (BTA) is designed specifically to improve the drilling performance of digger derrick augers in hard, fractural material such as limestone, lava, backfill material as well as cobbles and boulder type drilling conditions. The tool has a unique cutting pattern that allows each tooth to cut a small track, which increases cutting efficiency and tooth life. The combination of the cut pattern and tooth attach angle work to act as "fingers" that penetrate through and lift up fractured or broken material.
The pink BTA tool was delivered to Scott Powerline & Utility Equipment after the show.
"We appreciate Scott Powerline's support in purchasing the pink BTA tool as a way to bring attention to breast cancer risk factors, screening, and research for a cure," said Dale Putman, product manager.
