There’s something to be said about a trailer that lasts 20 years. In fact, Ed Stella of Stella Contracting Inc., Elmer, NJ, has a lot of good things to say about his Rogers Bros. trailers.

“These trailers are really built to last. That’s part of the reason why we’ve bought four Rogers trailers in the 26 years we’ve been in business,” said Stella.

Stella, who bought his first Rogers Bros. trailer in 1980, recently purchased a Rogers heavy-duty, 60-ton (54 t) trailer from C.C. & F.F. Keesler, Prospect Park, PA. “Our Sales Representative Steve Izzi does a great job for our customers in New Jersey,” said John Conner, sales manager, C.C. & F.F. Keesler. “It takes years of professional experience to spec out these big-time rigs, and Izzi does a big-time job.”

Constantly moving equipment between jobs in five states, Stella knew he needed a trailer that could stand up to the rigors of working five to six days a week, and had the trailer custom-ordered through Steve Izzi.

The result was a specialized Classic model SP60DS98, drop-side trailer with a heavy-duty lift package.

The unit is equipped with the following special features:

• Hydraulic trap doors

• Hydraulic goose-neck support system

• Four-beam, 25-ft. (7.5 m) cambered design drop-side

• Tread-plate decking

• Heavy-duty removable side brackets

• Severe service undercarriage package

• Spring and walking beam off-road suspension

• 275/7R225 tubeless radial tires

• Removable flip-fourth air-ride axle

In short, said Conner, the trailer is designed to handle the largest equipment most contractors could ever dream of hauling.

“With the way these Rogers trailers have performed, we’ll have this new trailer hauling for another 20 years,” said Stella.

The trailer – one of the largest high-performing 60-ton (54 t) lowbeds operating in the region – is hauling large hydraulic excavators, D8 dozers and specialized land clearing equipment for large acreage clearing.

In business since 1974, Stella Contracting serves Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. The company specializes in large-acreage land clearing for contractors, developers, golf courses, quarries, farms, highways, commercial plazas, industrial centers and pipeline right of ways.
